Codex quickstart: your first route in four steps
The initial 1routers flow is intentionally short: create an account, install the desktop helper, configure the active API key, and choose a model and route in Codex Desktop.

Create an account, install 1routers, connect it to Codex Desktop, and make a first model request.
1. Create your account
Register with the email address that will identify the account. After verification and sign-in, the dashboard exposes your balance, route settings, and active API key.
2. Install the desktop helper
Download the macOS or Windows version from the official 1routers download menu. On Windows, choose x64 for an Intel or AMD PC and ARM64 for a Snapdragon or other ARM-based PC.
3. Connect Codex Desktop
Copy the active key from the dashboard and place it in the guided 1routers configuration flow. The helper keeps this profile separate from an existing Codex configuration.
4. Choose a model and route
Select a supported model and start with Stable when you want a balanced default. Move to Economy for cost-sensitive work or Official when that route is available and the task benefits from it.
Never paste an API key into a public issue, screenshot, or shared prompt. Reset it from the dashboard if exposure is possible.
